RABINDRA JAYANTI CELEBRATION

REPORT –

        RABINDRA JAYANTI CELEBRATION

On the 10th of May, the staff and students of our school assembled together to pay homage to our revered noble laureate Kabiguru Rabindranath Tagore through a simple but well synchronised program. The program began with an invocation to Tagore and an introduction followed by the song ‘Anand Dhara Baheti jagme’ by the school choir. This was followed by the recitation of a verse from The Gitanjali titled ‘Obstinate are the trammels, but my heart aches when I try to break them’, by two of our school students. The main attraction of the program was a Bengali skit “Ichhe-puron” staged by the children of classes 9 and 10 that portrayed a humorous story of a father – son duo. The program was eventually concluded with another song by the choir – ‘Pran chai chokkhu na chai’.
