The Literary Meet comprised of two events :- The Inter school Creative Writing Competition (for Seniors & Juniors) and the Inter school Debate competition (for Seniors & Juniors). The inaugural ceremony of the eventful day commenced with the Saraswati Vandana sung by the School choir followed by the lighting of the diya by the Guests of Honour. This was followed by a brief welcome speech by our Principal where she introduced and felicitated the guests with bouquets and mementos. The guests of honour comprised of Mr. Nabarun Dey, Secretary of ASISC, West Bengal Chapter, Mr. Dilip Yadav, Chairman of Uttarpara – Kotrung Municipality, Mr. Indrajit Ghosh, a renowned local Councillor and Mr. Rajiv Singh, Chairman of Vision Educational Trust.

In the creative writing competition the participants were allowed to make a choice from three given topics. This event gave them a platform to showcase their creative streak. A time limit of 60 minutes was given to them to pen down their thoughts and these were ably judged by a group of experienced teachers.

The Inter school Debate Competition was held in 2 phases. In the preliminary round the participants were asked to speak on a topic on spot for a minute. This was an elimination round from where the final contestants were chosen.

Prior to the final round, the rules for the debate were spelled out clearly. The seats for the judges were adorned by Mr. Anirban Banerjee, Prof. Sravasti Chattopadhyay and Dr. Gargi Bandyopadhyay for the senior debate and Ms. Tanima Chowdhury and Ms. Aparna Sen for the Junior debate. The topic for the junior debate competition was :- “This house believes that education is incomplete without sports and games”  and the topic for the senior debate competition was :- “This house believes that dynamism defines the spirit of education in India”. The competitors kept the audience glued to their seats as they participated in this war of words and displayed exemplary reasoning and analytical skills. At the end of the debate the judges were requested to give their inputs and this added a new dimension to this event.

The school had taken great care in arranging lunch for the participants and the teachers. After the debate, as the audience proceeded for lunch, some teachers kept themselves busy in preparing the score sheet for the debate which eventually helped to decide the winners.

At around 3.30 pm, every one assembled in the Shivalaya Hall for the prize distribution ceremony. Ms. Sunita Srivastav, Principal of Sunrise School and Ms. Rakhi Ganguly, Principal of H.S. Memorial School were requested to felicitate the prize winners. The winners were greeted with a deafening applause from the audience as they received their certificates and trophies. The eventful day ended on a very happy note with a smile on every face and glee in every heart.
