FROM THE MENTOR’S (ENGLISH DEPT.) DESK
English is not only taught as a subject in Vision International School but it is the medium of instruction. Students learn how to speak, understand and express themselves in this language from a very early age, so that they can cope with school work.
English today is regarded as a global language. A knowledge of this language is essential in the pursuit of higher education. Moreover, it is widely used as a means of business and everyday communication in every sphere of life.
At Vision International School, apart from the teaching of English as a subject for instruction and examination, we aim to train our children in the skills of communication so that they will be at an advantage when they step out into the world. When students acquire skills in communication, they speak, read and write correctly, with fluency, ease and confidence.
Innovative methods are used in the classrooms to enhance the students’ skills in communication. Interactive methods, such as group discussions, role playing, simulation, dialogue, debate and elocution are used at all levels to ensure that the students become confident in their expression.
The study of Literature helps the students to broaden the horizon of their minds and develop a sound value system. The teachers at Vision International School encourage the students to read and acquaint themselves with the thoughts and ideas of the great minds of the world. The teachers encourage the students to reflect upon and analyze what they have read and learn to develop their own opinions.
We, at Vision International School, aim to nurture our students, so that they grow into well-rounded personalities who will step into the larger world, equipped with skills that will enable them to make a success of their lives.
